Jom Jom's Bio

Name: Maxwell Stone

Alias: Jom Jom

Age: 25

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 175 lbs

Known History:

Max's history has been pieced together but even still the core identity of this man is unknown. What is known is that Max was found in the Amazon jungle when we was in his early teens. Scientists doing ecological studies discovered a strange temple deep within the bowels of the jungle. The temple's markings were unlike any that these esteemed professionals had ever encountered. Baffled, they decided to explore the suspected ruins. After entering, they were surprised to find that the temple was actually inhabited. While no occupants were actually seen, it was obvious that someone had been there. The most obvious evidence was the discovery of Maxwell.

The scientists had entered the very soul of the building, a huge ornate chamber dedicated to some form of archaic ceremonies. There laying on a stone alter in the center of the room was Max. He was naked and covered in various cuts, as if he were being experimented on. Surrounding his body were a litany of ceremonial artifacts, knives, amulets, and other items. Each was inscribed with symbols and drawings of different indigenous Amazon animals and plants. There were also strange empty vials...

No sooner had the scientists found Max, the entire building began to shake and the walls crumble. Max was carried by the scientists from the temple. The scientists left the jungle with Max and took him to the United States where he was treated by the best medial physicians available. The reason for the cuts on his body were never truly understood, but Max made a full recovery. It was obvious that he had lived in the jungle for many years, but how long no one knows at this time. After three years of rehabilitation and several years of re-socialization, Max learned to speak and interact with civilized people again.

Max was adopted by the leader of the expedition, Sir Williford Stone. Max worked hard and became a leader in his field of biology. Last year, he was able to return to the Amazon and explore the area where he was discovered. He was looking for answers. What happened to him, his parents, who were the people in the temple, what experiments had they performed on him? To his disappointment, he found the temple was completely gone. Where it had once been now only a field of dried lava existed.

From that time on, Max continued to study the Amazon and became a leader in the fight against rain forest logging companies. He stands out as a prominent advocate for conservation and jungle habitat protection. He spends most of his money helping animals and is still known to be a bit socially backward.

Fist's Bio

Scouring the The Nerve Center's files and stumbling down few levels deeper than expected, Night Hawk uncovers files on Fist and The Administrator.

Name: Steven Cole
Alias: Fist
Age: 24
Height Pre-Process: 6'4", Post-Process: 5'4"
Weight Pre-Process: 182 lbs, Post-Process: 245 lbs
Notable Facts: Steven's single father, Cade Cole, was a hardcase who never gave him an inch to breathe. There was possibly a residual hate toward Steven for his part in his mother's death. When Steven was four years he had inadvertantly released the handbrake on the car while his mother was changing a flat tire on the interstate.

Years later, Cade's disdain for his son apparently spilled over when he tried to push Steven from the car on the freeway. Steven bit off the fingers that were prying him out the door and held tight to the seats while Cade raced to the hospital. Steven was put in a boys home soon after, at age seven.

Steven's father made one visit to the boys home, eight years later, during which he suffered a heart attack and died. The situation was questionable and Steven certainly could have been put on trial, but the truth is that every officer in town had arrested Steven's father at least once for DUI, and they were just glad to see him out of Steven's life.

His therapist reported that, even during his last session, Steven still claimed to be terrified of his father who, as he was dying, promised to claw his way out of the grave to come back and haunt Steven to death.

Night Hawk's Bio

Personal History Report taken from the file of the candidate [Night Hawk]

Subject: Night Hawk

Known Aliases: The Vigilante, James Wilson, Willy Street

Real name: William James Washington the Third (last name changed to Kobayashi at age 12)

Age: 40

Height: 6'2”

Weight: 220 lbs

Race: African American/Japanese

Personal note to Dorian:

The subject of this evaluation is of dubious character at best. His family and social history is a complete mess and it was difficult to separate fact from fiction in the later parts of his life. The media had a field day when he was brought to trial but was acquitted because the witnesses “disappeared”. Anyway, make your own judgment if he's to undergo The Process. Just remember, I warned you!

William James Washington the third was born on July 4th 1973 to William James Washington the second (deceased) and Akiko Kobayashi (deceased) in San Francisco California. William Sr was a convicted drug dealer and hit man while Ms. Kobayashi was heiress to a large family fortune. Unfortunately, she died in child birth leaving William Sr to raise the younger William himself. How and why the two met are unknown. But it's apparent that the Kobayashi family was looking for her (see Warrant# 24427A as an addendum to this report) and willing to pay a lot of money for her return. So William brought up his son the only way he knew how. In the streets of Harlem (Manhattan, NY) in the Bradhurst Section. Historically the worst neighborhood in America during the 1970s.

William Sr (referred to as Big Willie) returned to dealing drugs, running numbers and doing enforcement for Thomas White. An African-American street boss with a checkered history. Big Willie would leave his son in the car while collecting money and selling dope to Mr. White's clients. It was in August of 1983 that William Jr would witness his father's first murder. Of course, Big Willie had committed several other killings for Mr White before but William Jr was at the scene for the death of Janice Johnson. She was a prostitute that had stolen $14,372 from Mr White the previous week. Big Willie was given $5,000 for her death and the return of the money. From their William Jr's life took a turn for the worse. His father slowly spiraled down the path of junkie and hit man with William Jr learning to live on the streets between his father's fixes and fatalities.

This all came to a blinding halt when Big Willie was shot down by police in a drug sting operation in October of 1985. William Jr witnessed the death of his father and two other known associates of Mr White. One officer said William Jr spit on the body of his father as he left the scene of the crime. For several months William Jr bounced from foster home to state institution until a clerk in the New York State Juvenile court ran his name in an international database. She came up with the Kobayashi name and bounty for both his father and mother. A few weeks later William was on a plane headed to Tokyo Japan. The next 6 years of his life are mostly hidden within the Kobayashi family estate. There are several records of physicians and psychiatrists visiting the estate during this period but little is known of what happened behind those enormous gates. When William emerged at the age of 18 he was all grown up.

He was sent back to America for education at Princeton. Apparently he had other ideas and immediately joined the military. He served 4 years including a tour in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Afterward he spent 6 months in Japan and once again returned to Princeton. This time to stay. He double majored in Business and Criminology with plans to be a lawyer. However, two masters degrees later he decided to follow a career in computer science and earned two new degrees Computer Engineering and Electronics. I have included a copy of an IQ test he took when he entered the military. To say this kid was intelligent would be a grave understatement. During his school years he made frequent trips to his family estate as the health of his ailing grandfather (Toyota Kobayashi; CEO of Kobayashi Electronics, deceased) continued to deteriorate. There is some legal confusion as to who at this time was the heir of the family fortune as Akiko and her sister Akiro were both deceased and both had a single son. Not much is known of the “cousin” to William other than he had more than a passing interest in seeing the fortune pass to him.

At this point in William's life he was 28 years old, had served his county for four year and had numerous degrees and an excellent education. He went to work for his grandfather running the US office of Kobayashi Electronics in New York city in downtown Manhattan. For several years it would seem he was content making headway with the company. However, there are several police reports that put him at key crime scenes including the death of Thomas White, his father's former mob boss. William became entrenched in the community and had influence in both the black and Japanese population of New York City. In 2008 rumors of what the newspaper began calling The Vigilante began to circulate through the streets of Manhattan. Apparently, someone had taken it upon themselves to clean up the streets of the Bradhurst section of Harlem by taking out the pushers and pimps. And whoever it was, they were very effective. I've read the criminology reports (see File# 9393A New York Police Dept addendum) myself and apparently this self-styled vigilante had martial training and used a very sharp bladed weapon. Several reports have victims dying from a broken sternum (bone breaking) and drowning in their own blood.

At the same time, the street war between the Triad and Yakuza moving into New York City had spilled out into the streets. A woman named Evelyn Jericho (one of William's ex-girlfriends, deceased) was shot down in one such shootout. The Vigilante it would seem took it upon himself to avenge her death. Although the facts are sketchy, William apparently joined both gangs and played one against the other. They nearly wiped each other out of New York altogether. Neither group new that he worked for the other and it he was smart enough to keep it that way.

On July 1st, 2010 William Kobayashi was arrested for the deaths of 17 people all related to the Vigilante persona. The case went to trial and although William admitted to his lawyer to killing more than 80 people during his stint as the Vigilante there wasn't enough evidence to convict him. 4 of the key witnesses disappeared during the investigation of the case and he was acquitted of all charges.

Then something happened. Toyota Kobayashi died and left the company to William. The death had some mysterious circumstances and it seems William blamed his cousin. It appears that this cousin had ties to the Yakuza and shared some of William's alternate personality with them. William went back to work for the Triad for a short stint but something happened there as well. He apparently had a case of morality when offered a contract on a Chinese woman. I've got a small report on that if you are interested but it seems he couldn't bring himself to kill her.

That brings us up to current as of two weeks ago. He's been laying low for several months after the apothecary incident and has had death threats from the Triad, Yakuza and his cousin. And he's currently being watched with 24 hour surveillance by the New York City police department. Not only that, but it would seem the CIA has some questions for him and have been putting together a subpoena that they intend to serve in a month or so after they've put their case together against a high ranking official in the Yakuza. If you are going to contact him I'd do it immediately.

As an aside, I will give you a copy of his psyche evaluation. Although he has a lot of anger and seems very brooding he is highly motivated, his intelligence is off the charts and the street rumor is that he has rare martial arts training. I know the word “Ninja” is silly but if I were to classify him I'd be thinking in that direction. Oh, and people have a bad habit of dying around him so don't get too close, if you know what I mean.

Jom Jom - the Hero?

Hello everyone, it is me, Max...errr... sorry, Jom Jom.

First off, I have to tell everyone, I am very excited about being a part of this team. Even though certain members, are a bit, well, anti-social. In my experiences, animals suffering from social backwardness issues are usually trying to hide something. I know in the jungle, orangutans who are anti-social, they are usually the ones that the females have rejected. That makes me sad, because the females aren't too picky, they usually only reject the males for one reason.

So, I feel a little sorry for that Night Cheese fellow. Hopefully he will come around.

Regarding this whole hero business, did I mention how excited I am? I have never been a hero. Well except for that one time that I rescued a Himatanthus sucuuba from a crew of loggers in the jungle. Oh, such fond memories, that sucuuba had such a beautifully curved trunk.

I do feel especially heroic after Monday nights adventure. Mr. Nighty Night was playing on that computer thing and the, ummm, woman, ... was in her bedroom the whole night. Who was left to deal with that paranoid exploding invisible psycho? Just me. Most exhilarating. I don't think I want to bleed like that again anytime soon though.

Hope to hear from the rest of you. I need to continue healing.
Night Ogre was kind enough to let me keep this picture of the stars that he took.

Dorian's Major 6: Season 1, Episode 1

Three individuals with nothing in common but their own recent tragedies are contacted by an anonymous source. The source promises retribution for the deep wrongs they have suffered. "These wrongs were witnessed and I can help you make it right. Please accept this $5000.00 and plane ticket to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Be in baggage claim Saturday at 6:35 P.M."

Arriving in NM, the three are met by a person who immediately instructs them to refer to themselves simply as Night Hawk, Jade, and Jom Jom. "From here on out, never reveal your identities. By the way, I'm Fist."

"So what's your first name?" one of them asks.

Glaring, Fist replies, "The."

A four hour limo ride sees them arriving at what appears to be a covert government installation. Met by an alluring Scandinavian woman referred to as The Administrator, they are taken on a rather long elevator ride to a NORAD-like command room where The Administrator introduces them to Dorian, or rather, Dorian's avatar on a giant screen. He will reveal nothing more than his computer generated image and altered voice.

He informs the group that he is the head of a black-ops government agency that goes back many decades. No one knows under which presidency it began or even who else is in it. Each member simply does their job, which is to detect and assess any and all "unorthodox" hi-level threats to national security. At present those threats are another black-ops government agency and the reports in the tabloids regarding the growing numbers of people manifesting paranormal abilities.

"The problem with black-ops groups," Dorian claims, "is redundancy. Since no one knows about us, from time to time a redundant agency is created. Before long we end up countering one another or even becoming adversaries. In this case, Crossbow, our doppleganger, turned rogue and has itself become a security threat. You have been chosen to be my eyes, ears, and occasionally my foot up Crossbow's backside."

"How are we supposed to pull this off?" someone asks.

"Is there any money involved with this?" Jom Jom chimes in.

"I chose you three because every one of you three has been deeply wronged, and I can help you make it right. I have a file on each of your cases. For every two missions you complete for me, you may choose one of you to be presented with a file on the individual or group who has wronged you, and the facts and proof surrounding the incident. From there on, your actions are up to you. Tell me nothing. As long as you keep your... 'follow ups' to yourself and your identities off of the evening news we don't have a problem."

"As far as how you are going to pull off the missions, The Administrator can fill you in on that. Thank you for your time."

Dorian's image disappears and the Administrator goes on to explain that each of them is to be administered "The Process." The Process involves being put under for over a week after having been injected with a solution that is promised to be disgustingly painful but mostly safe. The end result is an emergence of comic book-like abilities promised to give the three of them the prowess of a small army.

"You'll be fine," The Administrator says. Fist chuckles and throws each of them a hospital gown. "I'll be preparing the lab," she says hurrying off.

A week later they begrudgingly come out of their stupors. Alertness means dealing with the tormenting pains that fire throughout their bodies. After making peace with ongoing aches in the recesses of their bones, they emerge to find they can now break the bounds of human abilities.

Jom Jom displays the ability to fly, tunnel, and perform a sort of lizzard like regeneration. In addition he has a "Thing"-like skin and quills on his fingers that he can throw like a porcupine.

Night Hawk guards whatever abilities he has been given, if any. He seems content to indulge is his paranoid tendencies, pouring over the vast computer network and trying to dig up any insights that might shed light on their current situation.

Jade is the most obvious changeling. Her skin has taken on a light-green tone and a sort of scaly exterior coats 90% of her body. Fate has left her striking facial features free of anything but a green sheen and Night Hawk and Jom Jom silently applaud. Most unusual is her ability to coerce people into telling truths they would have never imagined themselves sharing. It doesn't make her popular.

After accidentally prompting Night Wing to confess to over "80 or 90" murders in his past, deaths that he insists were only to "Bad people who deserved it, and not really on purpose," she seeks a bit of solace in her elaborate dorm room, quickly locking the door.

Night Wing and Jom Jom hang back to discuss their first assignment. The Administrator had revealed that they will each receive $50,000 quarterly, but that another shortcoming of a black-ops agency is their lack of funding.

"The point of black-ops is to be untraceable, and funding leaves a trail. Even when it's tracks are supposedly covered, there will always be footprints for anyone with a big enough magnifying glass. Therefore you will all be working on commission. And your first assignment is to come up with that comission."

"A casino in Vegas called the Augustus is run by Crossbow. That's how they get *their* funding. The mob worked it for years, but Crossbow took it over ten months back. You three are to find a way to get in and get out, with a minimum of $5,000,000. And you are to do it in 'mob fashion.' That means that when the authorities investigate, everything should point to the mob making this hit in retribution for having their casino yanked out from under them. Beyond that, every detail is up to you."

"But consider this: To make it look like a mob hit, you have to do it without any obvious use of your new abilities. Got it?"

"$5,000,000? That's a little more than our yearly pay, wouldn't you say?"

"Someone's got to pay the light bill," the Administrator says. "I'm busy baking superheroes and Fist is busy... being Fist. So that just leaves you three."

She smiles as she and Fist head out for anonymous business leaving Jom Jom and Night Hawk to decide that they don't really have an affinity for one another. Night Hawk scours the computer for leads while Jom Jom investigates the facility.

Hearing someone in the elevator, Jom Jom investigates and finds his quarry invisible. A futile argument with the mysterious intruder ends with Jom Jom grappling the individual, who is unfortunately called Fuse for a reason. An explosion fierce enough to punch holes in steel plating rips through Jom Jom and out of the 30 x 20 foot cargo elevator. Jom Jom is left dying here and there about the floor as Night Hawk approaches hurling threats at the assailant.

It turns out that Fuse has been in the facility for over week, all the while frantically trying to get out, but has thus far having failed to get the elevator to work.

Deciding not to make Fuse his 90-something fatality, Night Hawk lets Fuse off the hook when told, "I didn't mean to hurt him. I can't control it! Any time someone grabs me it just happens! I told him not to, dude."

A trip to the infirmary sees Jom Jom helped back from the claws of death, thanks partly to his newly discovered regenerative abilities and partly to the lab's revolutionary machinery. Jom Jom's right arm is broken and his unusual gate is indicative of ongoing internal damage. None-the-less, his burns are nearly gone and he's mobile.

The two return to the elevator where Fuse is still trying to find a way out. He's probably not the brightest knife in the drawer.

Cursory investigations of the elevator reveal the walls, floor, and ceiling have all been peeled away in the corner where Fuse exploded. Shockingly, behind both walls, the floor, and even the ceiling (!), is nothing but dirt.

Fuse ponders the obvious, "Shouldn't there be a shaft or something there? It' just, like, dirt and stuff."

Night Hawk proposes that the elevator is no elevator at all, but more like an illusion or a room built to look like an elevator. A man of few words, unless he has something pointless to say that is, Jom Jom doesn't bother with theories. He flies up to the 20 foot ceiling and scratches at the dirt above the hole. Clawing furiously he begins tunneling through and finds himself quickly surrounded by 100 degree dirt walls.

"How deep are we, anyway?" he wonders. A quarter of a mile later he breaks through a sheet of ice and emerges in what looks like the north pole. "Can this get any weirder?"

Jom Jom fills in Night Hawk who quickly proposes teleportation. "Remember our initial elevator trip down? None of us could sense movement. We assumed it was due to high-tech refinements in the elevator, but maybe there was something more going on."

"No way," Jom Jom comes back. Teleporting us to the north pole? That's too much. No one could do that."

Using his phone to snap a picture of the constellations, Night Hawk compares it to some webpages and decides that they are somewhere in upper Norway.

"Makes sense with The Administrator being Scandinavian and all."

Jom Jom jumps in, "Man, she's hot. Oh, and do you think that Jade's still going to be hot now that's she's all green and such? Remember when she all just stripped down and put on her gown? Geeze, we need to have operations more often around here. But what does Norway have to do with all this? "

"Who knows? Maybe this agency is bigger than a single government. Maybe it's global."

"Right. Makes sense."

Fuse, who is quickly discovered to be claustrophobic, is reluctantly allowed to be left on the surface. "You're gonna' freeze up here," Jom Jom insists. "It's a bad idea. Even I know that."

"I'm not going back down there!" Fuse screams.

Jom Jom leaves Fuse above ground, but comes back to check on him a few hours later to find his carcass is frozen into the earth. After carving him free, Jom Jom races him down to the facility where he is treated. No use. He's dead.

But not for long.

Left to himself, his pulse slowly begins to throb and in a few minutes his body is as warm and his demeanor as surly as ever. "Take me back! I can't handle it down here!"

"I'm not taking you back up there," Jom Jom comes back. "You'll just die again."

Fuse grabs Jom Jom's arm and glares. "You know what happens when someone grabs me. Are you gonna' pull my hand off of your wrist or are you gonna' take me back up?"

Trying to assuage him from another "explosive outburst," Jom Jom leaves him above ground again figuring that anyone who apparently can't die shouldn't have too much to fear from a little cold. He returns to find that Night Hawk has uncovered a bit of encrypted info from Dorian's database. This isn't the first time Fuse has died. In fact, Dorian thought Fuse was still dead from an unnamed incident. And it looks like Fuse was indeed supposed to be a part of a strike team.

So they ponder on that point, as well as something that Fuse said before totally freaking out:

"I'm not supposed to be a part of *your* team, I was supposed to be a part of the *last* team. What happened to them anyway?"
